About

What's a TCG?

As a member of a tcg, you earn, collect and trade cards. Your goals are to master a deck (= own all cards of it) and to reach a higher level. Easy, isn't it? ^^
You earn cards by playing games, donating stuff or participating in contests. You get more cards for difficult activities.

Why Special Place?

Special Place was originally a TCG about the video game series Silent Hill by Konami. The name "Special Place" comes from Mary's letter in Silent Hill 2: "I'm here in our special place, waiting for you". Now there are decks from other games included, but every survival horror game has it's own "special place", so I kept the title.

Cards

Most of the regular decks consist of 9 cards (worth 1) each. The character decks are a bit different. They officially have 7 cards, but card No 4 has 3 parts (04a, 04b, 04c), so alltogether there are 9 cards.

Special decks have 12 cards and cards are worth 2. So you should trade a special card for another special or 2 regulars.

Membercards are worth 1, not masterable and every member can get one - just send me a link to your favourite image (must be a screenshot or official artwork; no fanart!). You can trade it just for other membercards, but first of all you have to earn copies of your own one. You do this by playing games. Membercards you got from other members can not be traded again!

When you join you'll get your starter deck, which contains 7 cards (2 of a deck of your choice), handgun bullets and shoutgun bullets. And you'll get your membercard if you send me an image you want to have on it ^^

"Currency"

You can't buy cards in Special Place, you have to "shoot" them! So you don't earn money, you earn bullets. There are handgun and shotgun bullets, and every shot with the shotgun is as hard as three shots of the handgun. Unfortunately, there is only one bullet in each box.

Every card needs a number of shots to be killed (call it "shot points"). It's your choice, which weapon you use - you can even combine them - but be careful that you don't waste munition. Try to use exactly as many shot points as neccessary.

Example: If a card has 5 shot points, you can shoot it with 5 handgun bullets OR 2 handgun bullets and 1 shotgung bullet OR with 2 shotgun bullets (but you would waste 1 shot point then).

The firing range is updated bi-weekly on Sundays.

Coupons

Sometimes you earn a coupon. You can exchange it for a choice card (regular or special, depending on which coupon you have) or a copy of you own membercard which you can trade with others for their membercards.

But they are rare, because we have a small deck size and it would be too easy to master a deck if there are too many coupons.

Games

Games will be updates bi-weekly or monthly. You can find out the date of the next update on the game page.
All answers of password games are written without capital letters or spaced. Numbers must be written in digits. Names must be complete with first and last name.
All informations and spellings are taken from Silent Hill Wiki or Wikipedia.

Sprites

Yeah, we have some! You can't buy them, and you can only earn them in the monthly "Hide & Seek" game - every sprite just once! But you can trade them or buy "old" sprites in the Shop (= Firing Range).
Sprites give you special powers to earn more cards or bullets, so don't forget to go searching every month! And don't forget to upload the sprites to your homepage ^^

Here are the sprites that have already appeared:
sprite "power"
Angela is a shy and anxious young woman because she was abused by her father. It's not surprising that she hates every man. But she loves her mother and doesen't seem to be afraid of women. So you can take 1 card per week that shows a female character (no other characters or more than one girl). Don't forget to log it! (for example: "Took heather01 with Angela")
Cybil is good at shooting (it's her job, somehow), so she can kill enemies with less shots than other people. So you can discount one shot point at the firing range. For example, if a card hast 6 shot points, you need just 5 to shot it.
Please make a note in your tradelog whenever you've used Cybils power (for example: "shot heather06 at the firing range with 5 handgun bullets with Cybil")
Eileen has a large handbag with much space for cards. So she allows you to take update cards + worth 1. Means: if you may regularly take a card worth of 4, you can now take a card worth of 5.
Please make a note in your tradelog and in news comments whenever you've used Eileen's power (for example: "update: took alex07, items104 and pony05 with Eileen")
Laura is a puzzle expert, and she can show you all reference images. Just click on her and enter the passwort you got when you found her!
This monster has 4 legs, no arms and no head. It's special power is to hang around without moving or making any sound. That's pretty useless, but doesn't it look great?? Maybe you can use it as a coat stand?
He is cute, plushy, bloody and a bit scary, but he is nice to decorate your room. Maybe he can share a bed with you? (No, no special power this time.)

Depending on your cards value (not count!) you're on a special level. You can level up when you've reached the neccessary card value. There are 15 levels:
